Is your budget Jesus Famous or something else?
Last weekend I had the privilege of partnering with 8 other Churches to pull off an incredible student ministry event. It was a blast! God showed up and changed the hearts of teenagers and adults! I truly believe that we are on the brink of a revolution with our teenager population!
With that being said… the theme for the weekend was RENOWN, which means – “widespread and high repute; fame.” The theme verse is taken from Isaiah 26:8 “Yes, Lord, walking in the way of your laws, we wait for you; your name and renown are the desire of our hearts.” (NIV)
This weekend got me thinking about the blog series about money.
As we attempt to live Jesus famous lives… which means to live a life that makes Jesus famous to those around us; do we really have financial budgets that make Jesus famous?
We are going to make decisions everyday that make someone famous. We are going to either elevate our lives to a level of making ourselves known or something else known.
Jesus famous budgets always do two things:
- Give at least 10% to the Church and hopefully more to other places & people.
- Eliminate ALL debt. – We cannot serve both God and Money.
We are always going to make someone famous, or renown… now would probably be a good time to evaluate your financial budget and determine if you are making Jesus famous in that area of your life.
When we start living according to a Jesus famous budget we surrender to the Mission of Jesus!
What are you waiting for?
